It’s almost back to school time for many of us . . . and whether you are a parent, teacher, or student yourself, you know what it feels like to anticipate the first day of school.
I’ve often described this time of year like a summer hangover.  You know, a little lazy, unmotivated and distracted – knowing that it is going to take a little extra effort to get started off on the right foot when the first bell eventually rings.
Have you ever felt like you have been on a summer vacation with your dreams? Â Feeling a little distracted while you are dreaming happens from time to time…maybe you have plateau’d, or feel like you are getting ready to make the big leap from elementary to high school?
It happens to the best of us, Dreamers.  So in honor of that, I’ve found a few statistics that you  may find interesting – and possibly some motivation to get back to school with your dreams.
7.2 billion:Â The amount of money spent at family clothing stores for back to school shopping.
What supplies do you need to make your dreams happen? Â Can you start with what you have and build? Â As a top photographer dreamer, I know that by next year I have to upgrade my camera body – the one I have is 5 years old. Â It still works, but some camera phones now have more mega pixels than my dSLR – and its a bit un-nerving. Â I’m planning on upgrading by the end of the year. Â Think about what you need next with your dreams.
76 million:Â The number of children and adults enrolled in school throughout the country (nursery school to college).
Dreamers you are in good company – Invest not only money but your time in your dream goals. Â What workshops, trainings, or webinars are out there, highlighting the newest procedures, equipment or techniques? Â How about a field workshop that combines a vacation and instruction? Â Whatever your dreams, find a way to keep on learning.
31 million:Â Average number of children participating each month in the national school lunch program.
Here’s a great analogy – your dreams need food, they need nourishment. Â Sometimes we can feed ourselves. Â Other times, we need help. Â No matter what your dream….just ask yourself if you are giving it enough to not just survive, but thrive.
19.1 million:Â The projected number of students enrolled in the nation’s colleges and universities this fall.
Higher education means taking your dreams to the next level. Â You know its time to take things up a notch when you start to get bored, feel too comfortable or feel like you’ve exhausted your current options. Â What would it mean to take things to the next level in your dreams?
You have a lot to think about, Dreamers! Â What is your next step?
