How To Give Before You Get Your Dream

Last updated on April 2nd, 2012 at 03:12 pm

I wanted to share a few lessons learned from some of my favorite inspirational people while I swim in the fog of cold meds, thankful that all I have to do here is type since I lost my voice.

While attempting to recover last night on the couch, I was determined to do something to further the cause of multiple streams of income by torturing my husband and business partner, Ray.

There is a long list of items to get from A to Z in a project. A few items I had suggested Ray look into were pricing models and online shopping cart software.

Had he looked into it yet?

Nope.

Research, Answers, and Decisions... Oh My!

Since part of our multiple streams of income plans includes expanding Ray’s photography business, I picked up the laptop and kept him hostage while researching.

Will it be faster to customize the cart we use for our clients, or invest in a photography specific cart solution?

Are there other studios doing what we are planning in the area?

What pricing model are they using?

What do the examples look like on their web site portfolio?

While I sat and searched and sneezed, we managed to answer most of these questions in about an hour.

We even made a few decisions.

Does any of this work help my jewelry site I’m supposed to be working on?

Nada.

How about the updated web site for our business?

Not yet.

I can say that while taking time out to help someone else down their path, I know that help will come back to me. In several ways. My suggestion this week is to see who you can assist and offer your help. You may be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

Put out your helping hand this week – Heather

(Heather’s dream is to have multiple streams of income, starting with launching an e-commerce website that showcases her one-of-a-kind designer jewelry, which are crafted by her.  Heather’s post day is Thursday and her newly launched sites are couture jewelry available through For Your Adornment, and  Twitter background design on Twitter And Beyond Dot Com)
