Funny how the sunshine makes it always a little easier to stay positive? Either way, I’ll take it.
I hope you had a purposeful week and lived every day to the absolute fullest. That’s what life is all about. In my article, Positive Thursday: Dream Big Live Bigger I shared with you why my new mantra is “Dream big, Live bigger” and this week, I’ve been consciously trying to embrace that mindset and lifestyle.
I was created to shine, to soak up all that life has to offer, and to appreciate every single day. So were you.
This week, I want to chat briefly about balance.
Balance — that thing you never think about when you are working overtime, or up until 2 am cramming for an exam.
Balance — that lofty idea you never think you struggle with. Living life in balance is much easier said than done.
Many of us are wired to try to be everywhere at once, to be all things to all people, but sooner than later, we are left feeling weary and drained.
I want to encourage you to s-l-o-w down and take time for yourself. Yes, it’s okay to spend time with friends. Yes, it’s okay to volunteer. Yes, it’s okay to have an all-nighter every now and then. But remember, it’s just essential to recognize when you aren’t giving yourself and your body the balance it deserves.
For me, I’ve found that I’m actually a healthier and happier person when I do slow down a little. When I do take breaks from the job applications and interviews. When I do just hang out with myself for a night to break up my chaotic week.
When I do feed my mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being equally.
When we are juggling different priorities, tasks, and people and doing too many things at once, we don’t have time to breathe and actually enjoy life. If we are spending ALL of our time doing one thing, we are missing out on other areas. We are robbing ourselves of the potential joy we could be having!
This week, I encourage you to remain balanced. Continue pursuing your dreams–like I will be researching ways to be certified to become a life coach and applying for jobs–but don’t let that rule your life.
Keep your tasks, jobs, and activities in proportion, and allow yourself to take time to just BE and relax.
Keep on chasing your dreams, but also keep living a life full of peace and enjoyment!
