I’ve been hunting down some dream inspiration on the web. I came across this quote and It resonated with me.
Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe. ~ Gail Devers
This week I am working on keeping my dream alive. It’s easy to get side-tracked. Sometimes I feel a little crazy. Who wants to hear a middle-aged white woman rap? Where is my audience? Will I be accepted at a freestyle rap throw down?
Please, is it just me, or is it women everywhere that can’t stop second-guessing themselves. Here’s the next quote I happened upon . . .
Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blueprints of your ultimate achievements. ~Napoleon Hill
How’s that for a little pressure? Your dreams are the children of your soul. At some point you must give up all the hedging, analyzing, pondering and avoiding. Just get off your ass and get with it!
Involve others
It is always good to involve others in the process of setting and achieving goals. Take advice when necessary. And don’t be rigid. There are people out there who are better at this. Their suggestions are always valuable.
Welcome failure
If you learn to welcome failure and keep going, I think there’s nothing that can stop you from achieving your goals. I don’t know anyone who had an absolute smooth run and became successful. Failure is an important part of the entire process. Welcome it. Learn from it.
Persist
Persist. Don’t give up. As I mentioned, there could be many paths leading to the same destination. Try out different methods. Learn and improve. Be patient. Be persistent.
Celebrate
Celebrate when you have successfully taken the next step. You’ve just shortened the path to your destination. Hence stop thinking for a while and enjoy the moment.
Don’t lose sight!
And finally, don’t lose sight of your goals. If we don’t lose sight of it and wade our way through the obstacles, there isn’t a goal that can’t be achieved. So let’s stay focused till we reach our destination. Let’s not lose sight of it. ~ Abhijeet Mukherjee
How do you like the way I switched up the dream thing with goal achieving? It all makes sense to me. I truly believe that reaching a goal has to be about your dreams, otherwise, you really don’t care enough to follow through.
I just got back from a family reunion in Napa, CA. My Aunt Flossie is 97. I can’t remember her ever having any kind of dream besides making the perfect mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving . . . and today she couldn’t remember who half of her family was.
What do you do when your dreams are hangin’ out on the back burner?
I want to know how your dream-crafting is coming along. Tell me the difference between your goal setting and dream achieving.
Check out this lovely lady rappin’ some humor that I truly appreciate –
