It’s Thankful Thursday my lovely dreamers! What are you thankful for this day?
Today I am thankful for change that is challenging.
We all go through life events that force change down upon our seemingly tranquil worlds. I was told once that when you don’t plan your life your life will plan you.
Change will sneak up on you when you aren’t paying attention to your life and knock you off your foundation. It’s a call to stop sleep-walking through your life. This isn’t a dress rehearsal.
Being afraid of change is silly, but we all do it to some extent. Change is happening all around us every day. Today will turn into tomorrow, flowers will bloom and die, birds will hatch and eventually fly – everything is always in a constant state of change.
Sometimes we feel like screaming into a pillow when hard changes roll into our lives. I have had times where I simply switched off, cutting myself off from the world while hoping that unpleasant change would go away.
I am here to tell you that doesn’t work.
What we need to remember is that every challenging, life-changing event is brought into our lives because we are strong enough to handle it. You are stronger than what you believe yourself to be.
What you need to remember when challenging change rains down on your life is that you are still here. Be grateful. Stop and be thankful and then ask for help if you need it. Don’t bury yourself in your bedroom or on your couch under a blanket. Get out there and face down change.
Praise your inner strength!
Think of all the changes you have survived in your life. Think of school, graduations, break ups, jobs and job losses, housing changes, car changes, family changes — so many and you have survived them all!
I recently started a new job and my life is overflowing with change – every part of life is new to me. And guess what? I am happy. It’s not easy and it’s exhausting to take on new challenges and rolling with the changes they bring upon us, but there is no other choice is there?
What you do with change is how you will define your life. It’s how you take the lemons and make lemonade.
You can be the amazing director of your life. I salute those of you who are willing to explore the idea of greeting challenging change with a grateful heart. I think you get that it’s the only way to live a truly passionate life.
Chin up my sweetheart, you can do change.
And be sure to thank it for showing up. It will reward you in ways you cannot even yet imagine.
