Be Remarkable To Live Your Big Dream Life

Last updated on October 28th, 2023 at 01:34 pm

Remarkable quoteAs I work on my triathlete dream, I am fascinated by marketing specialist, author, and Silicon Valley venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki’s idea behind “Being Remarkable.” It’s the idea that to be remarkable, you should have a deep understanding of your own strengths, interests, and unique qualities. By understanding ourselves, we can identify and target our lives where we can excel and make a meaningful impact.

I think what Guy has to say is important for dreamers because when you have a deep understanding of your strengths, interests, and unique qualities, it becomes easier to define your big dream.

Your strengths can indicate areas where you have a competitive advantage, your deep interest in something can guide you toward what truly excites and motivates you, and your unique qualities, can differentiate you and your dream. For example, my becoming a triathlete (a female, no less) after the age of 40 differentiates me from other athletes and their big dreams, which excites me.

The dream achievement process often involves significant time and effort, and if your dream aligns with your interests, you are more likely to stay committed and persevere through challenges. A driving interest can be the driving force that sustains you on your journey so you don’t give up along the way.

6 Critical Principles of Knowing Thyself to Be Remarkable

1. Self-Discovery
Understanding your strengths, weaknesses, interests, and values is crucial. This self-awareness helps you identify areas where you can excel and bring your unique qualities to the forefront.

2. Identifying Your Interests
Your interest and enthusiasm for a particular dream can drive success. Finding a dream that aligns with your interests can make your journey and life more fulfilling.

3. Research and Analysis
Once you know yourself, research and analyze potential dream journeys. Look for people who have already achieved what you want to accomplish and read or investigate their journey. Look at any gaps or underserved areas where you can make a difference.

4. Differentiation
Stand out in your chosen dream by offering something unique or adding value in a way that others don’t. Differentiation is key to success.

5. Consistency and Commitment
Once you’ve found your dream, commit to it and be consistent in your efforts. Building a presence and reputation in your chosen dream takes time.

6. Adaptation
Be open to evolving as your dream or the world changes. Flexibility and adaptation are essential for long-term success in making your dreams come true.

Having a deep understanding of yourself, your strengths, interests, and your unique qualities is foundational to becoming remarkable enough to achieve your big dream. It guides you in selecting the correct goals, equipping you to stay committed, and helping you make a meaningful impact on your chosen dream.

It’s a crucial step in the journey of being remarkable enough to make your dreams come true. Just listen to what Guy has to say about it:
