Last Saturday, I spent the day with a close girlfriend working on our dream visions for 2015 and beyond, all the way up to my 100th birthday party! It was a day of dreaming big, giggling, dressing in costumes, listening to Krishna Das, eating healthy and nibbling on chocolate.
I find happiness both in the process of living my dreams, and in dreaming up my new goals! I’ve always loved spending time envisioning how I want the future to go.
Writing it Down As If It Has Happened Already!
When we can envision something happening, and really feel it, it’s possible to actually experience the joy of an event before it happens. There is even a word for this state of joyful anticipation: vorfreude!
And feeling this joy is, I believe, a big part of how we manage to actually make it happen. I believe the energy of imagining our dreams coming true can propel us forward and give us the energy we need to do the work it takes to make it happen.
Painting the picture in our minds of an event, or dream realized, means we are putting that energy out there in the Universe. I have always found that there is also magic in actually writing goals down.
When I write down a vision, I often find that a year later, or a few years later, it will come true, almost like magic! Sometimes I forget that I’ve written a dream down and it still manifests.
This blog was one of those miracles! I had written down a goal years ago that I wanted to write a blog that reaches at least 250,000 people a year, and I wanted to write about living my dreams.
Yet I had no idea how to start and build a blog audience.
And then when looking for writing jobs in San Francisco, I stumbled onto an ad for a “Fun, Fearless Female Writer” for 8 Women Dream and I just knew that they were looking for me! I said so in my response to Catherine and the team.
The subject line of my email was:
I’m your fun, fearless female writer!
One trip to San Francisco and one two-hour live interview later and I was an 8 Women Dream blogger! And walked right into exactly what I’d wanted to create, only Catherine and team had already created it for me.
Sometimes it’s just that easy, and serendipitous. And sometimes of course it requires a lot more leg work and sweat equity.
In those cases, the reason a dream comes true is because I’ve been busy working my butt off to make it happen! I do think it’s generally a matter of us taking the steps we can take, investing our whole heart, and the Universe meeting us more than halfway to make it a reality.
And I am diving in to work on my goals and visions now to manifest all that I dream of.
Finding Happiness in Feeling the Impetus to Be On The Move!
Right now I am feeling the inner urgings to be in action on my biggest dreams and goals. I am operating from this space: If not me, who? If not now, when?
I know that I need to fully commit to making my life all that it can be and just stay in action daily on making it happen! So that is my promise to myself: I will take action daily on my dreams, and keep moving forward!
Life has often surprised me with all kinds of beautiful ways of making my dreams come true. I anticipate the future with delight and know that when I keep moving and stay in my joy now, wonderful things continue to happen!
I declared 2014 as the Year of Miracles at the beginning of the year, and it has indeed been full of miracles! There are more to come, and I look forward to seeing what the Universe has in store.
And next year will be the best year of my life yet, because I declare it! I am committed to making it so, and will do what it takes to create a life that is exactly what I most love and enjoy.
Big things are coming in 2015! It’s going to be fun, and I will create a life that’s everything I’ve dreamed of.
Just wait world! Big beautiful things are going to happen!
Finding Happiness by Turning Dreams into Action Steps
Now I’m at the point when I need to take the visions I’ve created and translate them into action steps! I’m taking the visions I wrote in my journal and typing them up.
As I do, I’m creating lists of action steps that I need to take, and moving forward bit by bit with each dream.
I’m working on a new coaching Website. I’m printing up new business cards.
I’m dreaming up new workshops and getting that in motion. I’m brainstorming people to partner with and will reach out to make the magic happen!
I’m working on generating more abundance in my life through my work, and taking steps towards that.
I signed up for a DreamBuilder program just to keep me on track as well, and will look into working with a coach again myself.
I commit to working on my goals and dreams every single day. I know the Universe will delight me with all kinds of surprises along the way!
What Do You Want More Than Anything?
Is there something in your life that you want to manifest, but you haven’t done it yet? Could you start doing it in some small way, today?
For example, if you always dreamed of being a “rock star,” can you sign up for guitar lessons? If you want to be a famous writer, can you commit to writing 500 words tomorrow?
If you want to learn to cook, maybe download a recipe you want to try today!
I find the Universe responds to action, as much as intention. After all, if we dream big but never leave the comfort of our own home, chances are our dreams may not come true.
But when we have the courage to get out there in the world in pursuit of what we want, we may find our biggest dreams coming true even more quickly than we envisioned. Miracles do happen!
Finding Happiness by Going off and Manifesting Miracles!
I believe we’re all miracle makers, and that we simply need to fall our heart and soul’s calling and watch the magic happen. I say “simply,” and of course sometimes it feels very challenging.
Keep moving forward and walking through your fears, knowing that as you do, the whole Universe will conspire to help deliver your dreams. Know that you are worthy!
And you living your dreams is good for everyone. So go after your heart’s desires, and don’t hold back!
