When one dreams of plein air painting in Italy, it’s important to look at the travel options to consider.
Here are some ideas to kick around –
- There’s the Arts Sojourn, a travel group of artists who plan regular painting trips to Italy. Their trips are specifically for the artist to experience Italy. Their website is www.artssojourn.com.
- There’s Open Air Italy which specializes in small plein air painting workshops with a relaxed, stress-free, but stimulating environment for artistic endeavors. Their website is www.openairitaly.com.
- There’s Art courses in www.ArtistInItaly.com who offer painting holidays in Tuscany and Umbria for people of all abilities.
And they offer this video –
Doesn’t it make you want to go to Italy right this minute?
Or there is the Verrocchio Arts Center , in the beautiful hill top village of Casole d’Elsa, Tuscany, Italy, which offers art courses, painting holidays, sculpture courses, school trips at certain times, studios and accommodation. Their website is www.verrocchio.co.uk.
Or we plan our own trip.
I suppose the bigger question would be where do I want to paint?
One might suggest (since I belong to this 8 WOMEN Dream group) that I get my hands on the book, 100 Places In Italy Every Woman Should Go by Susan Van Allen. It is said that this book inspires women to discover places that will appeal to their spirits, senses, and quests for adventure.
Sounds like an 8 Women Dream adventure.
What are your thoughts on planning a trip to Italy?
Meanwhile, I’ll be over in this corner studying.
