Every morning for the last week, I’ve woken up grateful and astonished at how the dream process plays out.
My dream to heal with photography took a jump into hyper drive when I decided to open a retail space.
I told myself I could be scared up until I signed for it, from that moment on I had to be action. No room for fear.
But I would be lying if I said that the fear of failure didn’t creep in.
I keep getting asked how I push past the fear. There’s no simple answer. Dream chasing is a muscle. It takes practice. It’s like anything you do for yourself. You have to wake up each morning and choose.
At 11:00 a.m. when you’re struggling to get licensing and permits done, you have to flex the dreamer muscle. When you take a leap and your heart says “Let’s try!” and your head says “I’m scared we will fail,” you have to work your dreamer muscle.
Since I announced this big change, I’ve gotten so much support.
From people around the world, many who I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting. From friends who have supported me through the most difficult years of my life. From family. From new friends who lift me up.
And every comment, every ‘attagirl’, every affirmation tells me that I’ve gotta keep flexing that dreamer muscle.
Through this blog I made a friend, Kat. Her bio:
Hey there, I’m Kathlyn Hart (aka Kat) – the sassy, sarcastic, potty mouth behind Bitches Work that wants to help you get your ass moving so you can start living that life you keep daydreaming about.
Simply put: she’s a bad-ass flexing her own dreamer muscle.
Founder of Bitches Work she’s helping women “live like you give a damn.” Because every woman that’s trying to get stuff done has been called a bitch. She’s turned that into something empowering.
I adore her daily bitch slaps.
I find they ease my fears and keep me grounded. She’s like a life coach. Who will bitch slap you if you fall off your dream wagon.
She is a talented interviewer and has shared interviews with amazing, interesting women following their own dreams.
My interview with her was soul food and to see this all come together has been amazing:
Click through to visit her site. Then prepare to get lost in all the other videos she’s created. And learn her name. She’s got big things to do in this world, we’ll be seeing much more of her.
Seeing this interview has lit my fire. It’s a literal BONFIRE now. Thank you Kat, for seeing what I’m trying to do and asking all the right questions.
I’m so grateful we met through 8 Women Dream!
