Goal Status: 6 more pieces of jewelry ready to deliver.
Last week I mentioned needing more silver wire. I remembered this once again on Friday, at 6:15 and the bead store closed at 7:00 pm.
In my book, it’s OK to speed if you are after your dream.
Since then, the silver wire has turned into 4 new pair of earrings, and 2 custom findings that finished off necklaces that were otherwise ready to go to market.
The market in question for me is currently Haus Fortuna in Petaluma. I had the opportunity to talk to art lovers and jewelry aficionados at the monthly Petaluma Art Walk, that takes place every 2nd Saturday of the month. The lovely owner, Karla, had my photo up on Facebook before we wrapped up the day. That’s the way to use social media!
Most of the afternoon was spent mentioning the types of materials I use (glass beads, natural and semi-precious stones), how I use them (crocheted, spiraled or braided) and how I had integrated other materials, like fiber, for contrast and a surprise element.
Talking about my dream all afternoon infused me.
We could all use an infusion, especially during this lovely time of taxes due or extensions filed. Cash would be nice, don’t get me wrong, and would help most of the dreamers out there. Not everyone gets cash back.
So how can you infuse your dream regardless of the number at the bottom of the tax form?
1. Talk to your friends – how many friends know about your dream? How many friends know about 8 Women Dream? Tell a few, then tell a few more. The universe has a way of sending like minded people your way.
2. Make a call – last week I talked about making the call. What does that mean to you? We all have a pile of business cards, post-its, notes, and ideas on our desk, admit it. Pick one of them up and find a person who has the answer. Then call them with your idea, product, solution, etc.
3. Find your zen – if you have been running at top speed for over 500 miles, then take a break. Don’t stress, you won’t have to run away to Bermuda to get recharged. If you do, I’m hiding in your luggage. Try 20 minutes, outside, no phone, no agenda, no purpose. Just breathe and let the bullshit float away.
Another year of taxes, no matter the outcome, will not matter if by this time next year, you are living your dream. Keep the good thoughts and have some fun this week!
