Hello dreamers!
This week on Thankful Thursday I want to talk about a word that makes all of us shake in our pumps:
FEAR.
Is it possible to be grateful for being afraid to create the lives we want?
Fear is a great teacher. Fear teaches where you are stuck. But is it possible to embrace your fears by being grateful for them?
I often speak about the need for personal change in order to grow into the person you are meant to become. Inspiring you to stretch your limits and pursue your dreams is the easy part. For myself, just like the rest of you, when it comes down to actually taking the steps to transform my life, an internal struggle will typically commence and resistance ends up stopping me dead in my tracks.
Yes — it happens to me too.
I believe that we have the ability to take the steps needed to actualize change in our lives. But the issue for many of us is that we allow fear to construct a distorted vision of what “could happen” based on our false perceptions. This leads us to do nothing, or do a lot of “busy other stuff” for an excuse to do nothing.
So we stagnate.
The reason behind this is typically one of two things–we are either fearing success, or fearing failure. And as any good doctor will tell you, both of these are grounded in self-doubt and low self-worth.
What to do?
The fastest way to overcome your self-doubt and feelings of worthlessness is to discuss your fears openly where they can see the light of day. The best part of attending Toastmasters meetings is having a loving, supportive group hear my speeches and build my confidence. To share my stories in front of an audience strengthens my self-esteem and pushes me to challenge myself. This always dissipates any fears that I might have had prior to the meeting.
In the following video, I am going to open up to you and share my own personal fears and offer advice for embracing your fears. I want to demonstrate how I bring my self-doubts out into the light for a shift in perception … and smack down fear in the process!
This video is dedicated to everyone who is battling with overcoming fear in everyday life–
Can you be grateful when fear shows up in your life?
What is it trying to teach you?
Face your fears, admit them and open yourself up to the life of your dream.
Love,
Sue
