What ever made me think that I didn’t have to exercise on a regular basis and still be healthy? That’s just not realistic. I HAVE to exercise. I HAVE to make an effort and not take the easy way out; like telling my daughters to go upstairs and get something for me (instead of getting my big butt up there myself), or not walking the dogs because the hills are too hard, or trying to find a super close parking spot so I don’t have to walk, or not taking the stairs instead of the escalator. I’m finally getting it. I AM doing these things now, plus more, and I am at my halfway mark on my weight loss goal. Yeah!
I said before that I was going to try a Zumba class. Well I did it. It’s been at least 10 years since I’ve been to an exercise class. Needless to say I was pretty nervous. But it was exhilarating. I can’t wait to go back. Of course it was hard to keep up, but just the music and energy made me feel like I was in my twenties, doing my aerobic classes, until the next day: back kink. Maybe it will get better?
New York is still in progress. I have the date and schedule and am narrowing down the hotels. The next step is just pushing the “send” button and booking it. Now how do I make myself do that?
‘Till next time,
(Kim has already accomplished her first big dream by traveling to New York with her teenage daughter June of 2009. She lost 20 pounds and overcame her intense dislike (do we say fear?) of flying to accomplish that dream. She rotated off the blog in February 2010, but still hangs out with 8 Women Dream. You can find her in the comments section)
